quotes Second that request. Shazam didn't recognize it. :( Great video overall, can't wait to get back to Squamish and Whistler!

quotes Hell yeah! So much better than a lot of rocky descents I have seen by zee Germans lately. Akrigg always keeps it smooooth.

quotes Great article, Colin. I appreciate the in-depth view here. The pics, as usual, are outstanding. The coverage was great, and I learned that ceramic is an option for BBs. I am surprised though, that zero-stack/1.5" and internal headset bearing options weren't mentioned here. Just as with the long-delayed/eternally-bemoaned development of the BB, new-school headset standards were not embraced until relatively recently, but CK can accommodate for many applications now with InSet headsets.

quotes I heard this many times in a bike shop: "You get what you pay for". Truthfully I haven't seen cheapo/OEM headsets returned en masse, but I think that for riders who demand the best components recognize that a King headset is great value.

quotes @hoolydooly: i am sure that you can find something in the next year on http://www.couchsurfing.org/ or vrbo.org. Try reddit.com/r/mtb or craigslist for vancouver/whistler. There is also http://www.whistler.com/bike_accommodation and there is another lodge i know of (but the name escapes me) which has a shop in the basement and is specifically set up for housing us riders.

quotes @enduro27: why not run single-ply Minions on an XC bike? some conditions where i ride call for widely-spaced moto blocks. and @sinatraFR: yes. really.

quotes I need a tire sponsor.

quotes I miss the old Michy DH Comp 32 2.8s. "What rock garden?" :)

quotes Definitely not designed for AM/FR/DH. For a 60-100km day in the saddle on an endurance/off-road rando event, I can see that this would work well. And as far as "what's old is new again" I had a good chuckle when I realized that the flat bar trend for big bikes so closely matched the bars I was running 20 years ago, too. (Though today's bars are significantly wider!)

quotes yeah, lots of stuff gets slagged, and the only thing I have seen so far really deserving of our ire was that stupid Humvee-inspired tire-pressure system from Sea Otter. :P

quotes @monkeyboy: I for one am glad that a variety of gear is posted here. I ride park but I also throw myself into XC races on the rare occasion.

unfortunately it really has nothing to do with proper maintenance. no matter how well you maintain your headset, there's still play in the top race/ steerer tube fit. that isn't mechanically sound no matter how you rationalize it. however it causes less of a problem on lower travel forks/bikes. i still stand by my generalization. kings are shit

with all due respect you might too interested in arguing about this too realize the truth. although i felt like i outlined all the problems clearly, maybe you didn't appreciate the way in which i delivered my facts. read the post below yours. it is absolutely true.
